BIO: Vese Aghoghovbia- Aladewolu

Hi, I am Vese, author of the award-winning children's book, Who Do I See in the Mirror?, founder of Philly & Friends, an award-winning educational toy brand and co-founder of DVees, an exciting West African drinks brand.

As an entrepreneur, I have been recognised as one of the Top 100 Entrepreneurs to Watch in the UK by Natwest & The Telegraph. My work and dedication have also earned me the prestigious 2021 Consumer & Luxury Rising Star of the Year by Black British Business Awards. I have also won The Breakthrough Fund by The Break Social and IFundWomen & Vista ReferHer UK Grant.

My strategic and problem-solving skills have been combined with my creativity to bring joy to the hearts of little ones in the Baby & Child industry. My previous experience as an ex-Baby & Child Specialist at Notonthehighstreet and a Chartered Engineer with over ten years of experience in Strategy, Operations, and Customer Experience working for FTSE-100 Engineering and Technology firms such as Accenture, National Grid, and Bloomberg have been valuable assets to my journey.

I am involved in conversations about Entrepreneurship, Identity, Diversity in the Playroom, and Parenting. I have spoken on various platforms, including Bubble Childcare, Penguin Random House, BBC, Norton Rose, and have contributed to Parenting Magazines such as HuffPost Parent, Mother Mag, and Absolutely Mama Magazine.

As a Consultant & Speaker, I have partnered with schools and organisations on various projects and speaking engagements. In addition, I am a school governor and sit on the board of two children's charities (Discover Children's Story Centre and Peut-Etre Theatre).

I am a start-up ambassador and mentor who has mentored various new and budding entrepreneurs through programmes with AllBright, Niyo Group, Level.
